The Irish Rose

Website UX/UI Redesign

While I have been working at The Irish Rose (a niche, personalized, online Irish gifts retail store) we have updated our website once. I am currently working on a new design with the aim to better the overall user experience for customers while navigating product pages, reading blogs, and purchasing items.

The Irish Rose specializes in personalized Irish gifts with over 1200 unique surnames and their associated coat of arms for customers to choose from. We add a customer’s choice of surname and coat of arms to a variety of products ranging from glassware to clothing and flags. This means for we have over 1200 variations for every product we carry, and this multiplies for products with different sizes. Logistically, this has been an extremely difficult yet rewarding problem as we satisfy a niche and have seen a large rise in sales over the past three years since I began work.

One area where we need more work, however, is creating a better buying experience for users and organizing our large swaths of products/variations in a way where customers can not only find which product they like, but see a representation of it before buying. This project involves a complete redesign of all of our web pages from home to checkout, a new logo, product pages with a “view your coat of arms on this product” function, as well as a revamped review system. I’m working on a new experience for users in this redesign and hope to share my progress here soon!
